Hi, Ms. Alyce. I love all your books. Can you tell me what your motivation was for the character Teala in A Lifetime of Pain?

Teala like all my characters, allows me to be who I want, when I want. I was going through a very painful time in my life and through Teala I could be the good and the bad girl. I could express my joy and pain. I was allowed to be weak when permitted and strong when necessary. Teala just wanted someone to love her just as much as she loved them, but the truth of the matter is, you have to learn how to love yourself before anyone can love you. Love is a gift. Nothing that can be bought or earned. Love is sweet, gentle and kind. Love is accepting things for what they really are and if that means letting go, then so be it. If the other party isn't on the same page as you, love yourself and them enough to walk away. You have to willingly give of yourself. You shouldn't be forced into doing something that isn't equally fair. Love can grow, too; yes, into something so beautiful that nothing can break it or separate it. Relationships are reconcilable so if love wasn't there the first go round, don't rule it out the second time around. Author, Alyce C. Thompson

You're so right love is all those things and so much more when you can open up yourself unselfishly but we do live in a time where you do have to truly know thyself and not live hiding behind the pass hurts and pains that we been through.We as humans have to empty out all pollution that we tend to store in that deep part of us and I found where we can recycle all the hurt & pain for restoration and thats taking it to the LORD because He is a healer & deliver.Alyce you really got a good thing going on,keep bringing that something that is real, that something we can feel and I do believe you got your hands on it and with all the love that you posse in a minute it shall embrace you right back----------- I'm out but I'm all in ........

I woke up this morning to read these beautiful, sincere, godly words. You are such an inspiration to me. I love you, my sista. You are a great teacher, provider and friend. God will restore what the cankerworms have taken. What He gives, is free, unselfish and forever. With Him, we can be all things through Him and for Him. Don't give up the good fight. Alyce Thompson is a great black author. She is beautiful person inside and out. I just read A lifetime of pain it truly was a no stop reader. I will defiantly read all of her books. These books are a HIT cant wait to read The three men I love. You Go Girl.
